Ear Infections

Ear infections can be caused by a variety of reasons, such as a bacterial or viral infection, fluid build-up, or allergies. These infections can affect different parts of the ear and cause a lot of discomfort, especially in children.

Symptoms of an ear infection

  • Itching in the ear canal
  • Redness inside the ear
  • Pain or tenderness when touching the ear
  • Ear pain (sharp or dull)
  • Fluid drainage form the ear (in some cases)
  • Sometimes fever or swollen lymph nodes
  • Hearing loss or a feeling of fullness in the ear
  • Fever, balance issues, tugging at the ear (especially in babies)
  • Irritability or trouble sleeping (especially in children)
  • Severe dizziness or vertigo
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
  • Nausea and vomiting (from dizziness)

Our providers can aid you in your discomfort and begin the process of healing your ear infection by prescribing ear drops and/or antibiotics.
